How To Use PBXpress with BroadVoice
In order to enable your BroadVoice account with PBXpress, you must
follow the procedure described below. In order to see a full picture,
click on each screen shot to enlarge.
Content:
First, log in to your BroadVoice account
using your BroadVoice login and password.
Important: your
BroadVoice login and password are NOT what you need to enter into
PBXpress!

Click "ACCOUNT" tab
on top of the configuration screen. Then, while on the "ACCOUNT"
screen, click "Show Settings" link located inside of the "My
Devices" area.

Note the following information from your BroadVoice account: 1) registrar_ip, 2) phone_number,
3) auth_id, and 4) auth_password. You will need this information in order to configure
PBXPress.

Open PBXpress administration interface. Create a connection and name
it as you like. We used the name "BroadVoice" for demonstration
purposes.
Fill in the information you recorded from the BroadVoice account
exactly as pictured. (Note: the password is not shown here; you must
use the same password in the BroadVoice "auth_password" and PBXpress
"password" boxes).
Important: make sure that you
check the "Reg" and "Use" check boxes, as highlighted on
a picture.

Disable BroadVoice voice mail: make sure that you
set the "Voicemail" status to "Off" in your BroadVoice
account. Enabling BroadVoice voice mail conflicts with PBXpress voice
mail.

Troubleshooting
- Go to Advanced -> System -> Network
on your PBXpress system and make sure your DNS settings are
configured properly.
- "400 Bad Request"
Problem: BroadVoice returns
multiple "400 Bad Request" errors, which result in immediate
'busy' signal. These errors are logged in the 'Call History'.
Resolution: on the screen above, instead
of 'sip.broadvoice.com' use any one IP address to which
sip.broadvoice.com resolves.
Explanation: BroadVoice has multiple servers. Hostname 'sip.broadvoice.com'
resolves to different IP addresses. It is a known bug that BroadVoice
does not handle such switching correctly. Manually resolving the host
to one, fixed IP address resolves the issue.
