PBXpress - Installation
Installation Part I »
Installation Part II
Your first task is to decide how you are going to integrate PBXpress
into your corporate intranet. There are three alternative methods of
installing PBXpress into your LAN.
Method 1
Connect PBXpress directly to a WAN connected hub or switch as shown in
the diagram below. This is the recommended method because it
allows you to avoid many of the problems that can arise from operation
behind a firewall.

Method 2
You may not be able to use Method 1 due to company policy or other
constraints. In this case connect PBXpress to your corporate internet
as shown in the following diagram and PBXpress will work behind the
firewall.

Method 3
If your organization does not have an Internet connection, and you do
not intend to use VoIP long distance calling, then you can set up
PBXpress IP PBX in place of a legacy PBX.

Method 4
No telephony board installed in PBXpress (two Ethernet ports): a VoIP
Gateway (e.g. Sipura 3000) is used to connect to the PSTN line. In this
scenario, PBXPress is used as a IP-only PBX with no direct connection
to the analog telephone lines. This is a recommended method for budget
installations.

Method 5
No telephony board installed in PBXpress (single Ethernet port): a
VoIP Gateway (e.g. Sipura 3000) is used to connect to the PSTN line. In
this scenario, PBXPress is used as a IP-only PBX with no direct
connection to the analog telephone lines. This is another method for
budget installations.
